Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Beauty Look by Laura Mercier
It’s been almost three weeks since pamella roland’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection debuted at New York Fashion Week. The collection was extremely well-received, continues to attract attention and is currently on its way to Paris Fashion Week. We can’t wait for our buyers to see it in all its splendor.
Another hugely popular element of the show is the highly-coveted, Russian-inspired beauty look created by Matin Maulawizada, global artistry director for Laura Mercier, to complement the collection. Matin and Pamella are great friends and have worked together on Pamella’s shows for years. From concept to reality, Matin’s work is always fantastic, and this time was no different. The final look was beautiful, elegant and regal. Thank you, Matin!
Since we’ve received so many questions and feedback about the look, we wanted to show you how it all came together. See below:
Because women in the era of Russian Czars wore minimal makeup, Matin went with a simple, mostly-nude palette.
To create the perfect foundation for the complete look, he started with Laura Mercier (LM) Foundation Primer. He then applied either LM Creme Smooth Foundation or LM Silk Creme Foundation and used LM Secret Camouflage to perfect the look.
To the cheek bones, Matin applied LM Creme Cheek Colour in Blaze and LM Second Skin Cheek Colour in Sweet Mandarin. He finished the cheeks with the LM Bonne Mine Colour Palette’s Bronzer Veil.
To set the face, he used LM Translucent Setting Powder.
To achieve a minimal look that complemented the opulence-inspired collection, Matin decided on a gold palette for the eyes. To achieve this, he used LM Illuminating Eye Color in Gilded Moonlight and LM Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic. The finishing touch (and one of our favorite details) was a coat of LM Gold Mascara, an exclusive for the pamella roland show.
Strong eyebrows were created using the LM Eyebrow Pencil.
Because Russian red was a more predictable choice for lips, Matin decided on a deep maroon. To create the perfect shade of wine, Matin started with LM Lip Silk to prime the lips, followed by a combination of LM Lip Pencil in Coffee Bean and Deep Wine.
